So um... This picture was quite a learning experience.
This was originally for someone who had donated some points so i decided to sketch her a pic as thanks. In a breakdown of communication however, I ended up Effing the whole thing up. Its the wrong character. FFFFFFFFFF
I intended it to be a speed paint, ended up taking around 8 hours. Seems you have to know how to paint to speed paint But I put a lot more time and effort into this request than intended.
I love how it turned out, I'm so glad my painting is finally reaching a point where i'm comfortable with how it looks. Its unfortunate that it will also serve as a reminder to be more careful.
Anyway so i fixed it and sent the right one to her, but I really love this one more, compositionally its more appealing. So I'm uploading this one.
So this character ACTUALLY belongs to So uh... giftart? I dunno... *sigh*
I'll send out a warning to you guys, if you're requesting a picture from someone, make sure you give them correct reference pictures of it as soon as you can. And if you're the one doing the art, make sure you have all you're sources absolutely correct before starting.
I will never make such a gigantic mistake again. ;_;
(also i'm aware the legs are a bit tiny, I've learnt to make sure the sketch's anatomy is all good before doing the painting.)
I must say that the colors in this picture are very bright and is like eye candy ^w^ The colors are blended well together, and the soft effects of the clouds add a nice touch.
Now for some criticism >.<
the body looks out of proportion. It doesn't seem all that natural, and looks a bit stiff. While the head looks great, and the ears flow quite nicely, the bottom the body doesnt seem right.
And you have a tangent on the far right foot, because it's touching the cloud; and that's a huge no no in my animation course.
you're already a great artist, but for every artist, there's always room for improvement and that's what makes art fun ^W^ is too see the improvements along the years.
The first thing I noticed when I opened up this deviation was that it was very Christmas-y to me. Then, the face was what really drew my attention to the deviation. It's cute and drawn nicely.
The colors go together well, especially with the shading style you used on this. Overall you've done a really nice job on the Pokemon. The clouds are equally nice, so I hope you don't consider that or the Pokemon. ^^
This is the first deviation I've seen that's really made me "awww" at it. While Shaymin may look a bit lanky (haha) it's still great. The pose, the colors, shading... It's cute, for lack of better words. Everything goes together nicely, and the red and green sticks out in an appealing way Nice job!
He looks more like Chip, from the game called Sonic the Werehog or i don't know how i would spell it XDDD
By the way, speaking of this piccy, i started falling in love with these colors TTwTT so wonderful.....makes me drooling XD on other hand, they're suitable well for Christmas Time
I believe you, everyone makes many mistakes with perspective in air, also sometimes that pose is hard to be drawn D:
So you spent 8 hours drawing a completely different character? Harsh. What you could do is just photoshop in the intended character's face onto this drawing, and presto! No one's the wiser! And good drawing, too!

Great work, and keep at it
